Spoty wolności — visual identity
CHALLENGE
The Spoty Wolności project, an initiative by the Skate Culture Foundation, was the first of its kind in Poland, aiming to create legal, dedicated skate spots in Kraków. This pioneering effort sought to offer safe, accessible spaces for skateboarders, reflecting the growing importance of urban sports in the city. A key challenge was to develop a visual identity that would resonate with a very specific audience—skateboarders and urban sports enthusiasts—while still aligning with Kraków's urban landscape.
CREATION
The visual identity for Spoty Wolności was designed with this unique community in mind. The logo construction breaks the name into three segments, arranged diagonally. This composition mirrors the initiative's core idea—just as the project's creators designate pieces of the city as "skateable," the logo visually divides space to symbolize this transformation. This concept visually encapsulates the essence of reclaiming urban areas for skateboarding, making the identity both functional and meaningful.
